They had banners positioned at the entrance to the campus and those driving by saw the smiling faces of CWA activists handing out fliers and waving in their red shirts.

We made our presence known and our voices heard! We were united in our message that CWA members deserve a fair contract from CenturyLink

Strike Authorization Vote

Update: Members of the Communications Workers of America at Century Link/Legacy Qwest voted overwhelmingly to authorize CWA leaders to call a strike if a fair contract cannot be reached.  More than eighty eight (88) percent of the voting Legacy Qwest members approved the strike authorization.

This process started in April - Before the contract between CWA and Legacy Qwest expires, CWA members become involved in a process called collective bargaining. At midnight on October 6, 2012, our current contract will expire.

Update: As of Sepetember. we are now all aware of the stance that CenturyLink has taken during our negotiations for a new contract for our members at the legacy Qwest properties. It is apparent that these talks are unlike any we have faced in this unit since 1998. In light of all of this, we see no alternative but to proceed with taking a strike authorization vote.
